New Delhi: Actor Ram Kapoor, who is known for his role in the bed Achle Lagte Hans, has been allegedly removed from his upcoming series Mistry’s promotional activities. The decision follows the allegations that Kapoor made sexually improper remarks during a media conversation at JW Marriott.
According to a Mid-Day report, the incident occurred, while Kapoor was seated along with his mistry co-star Mona Singh and senior Gehotstar officials. His comments during the campaign interview allegedly made several team members uncomfortable.
An inner source revealed from the portal, “The tones and materials of his ‘jokes’ were unprofessional. He had back-to-back interviews that day. Referring to the pressure of work at a point, he said that he finds ‘collective-bottlenecks’. The comment was when a journalist was installing his mic.”
Kapoor allegedly did not stop there. He went to repeatedly comment about kissing a male executive from the marketing team of the show and made unfair remarks about his birth, saying that his mother should have “slept instead of imagining him. The report also said that Kapoor later told a male colleague that his mother should have had a headache and should not have been born. He also made reference to sex positions.
On the same day, Kapoor allegedly made unfair remarks about the organizations and families of Gehotstar and PR team members. An executive shared,
“He saw the dress of my colleague and, referring to its length, said,” The clothes are distracting. ”
Action by platform
After the incident, the senior leadership of the OTT platform and the HR team held an internal discussion. Following a formal complaint and incidents were confirmed by eyewitnesses, this decision was made to release Ram Kapoor from all promotional activities.
A source told Mid-Day: “This workplace gives priority to dignity and safety. After a complaint, it was formally raised and the events confirmed by eyewitnesses, leadership went immediately. The platform wants to distance itself from any behavior that normalizes the workplace misconduct. The interviews are being held completely with Mona.”
On Friday, Mona Singh was seen promoting the singles of the series. The Mistry Amy Award winning series is an official Indian adaptation of the monk. It is scheduled to stream on 27 June.
