Ramayana full cast update: Hands down, one of the most anticipated films of 2026 is Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor in the role of Lord Ram. Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari’s magnum opus will be released in two parts and will feature a huge cast. Recently, the news of National Award-winning star Vikrant Massey being dropped from the film was widely reported, with Bollywood star Raghav Juyal stepping in his place gaining attention. However, the former simply denied being part of the venture.
Vikrant clearly dismissed all the rumors in his Instagram story and revealed that he was never a part of the film. He wrote, “Ok. To put an end to the rumours. I was never a part of Nitish Tiwari’s Ramayan. Many media portals reporting about my alleged ‘replacement’ should have done the requisite background checks. Disappointing. Still, all the best to everyone who is a part of the film. Love.”

Speaking on the Prakhar Gupta Experience podcast, Namit said, “6-7 years ago when we set out to make it, when we got really serious about scaling it up, everyone called me crazy, because budget-wise no Indian film comes close to this. To put it simply, by the time we complete both the films – Part 1 and Part 2, it will be around $500 million, which is Rs 4000 crore. Is more.”
