New Delhi: Filmmaker Rishabh Shetty, the visionary behind the groundbreaking film Kantara, opens up in a fascinating conversation with Rana Daggubati on The Rana Daggubati Show streaming on Prime Video. In this week’s episode, Shetty, along with actress Neha Shetty, takes the audience on a trip to his hometown Keerady, the same place that inspired the making of the film.
Reflecting on the genesis of Kantara, Shetty revealed, “Since childhood, I have dreamed of shooting a film in my village and its forests, Keeradi. I searched for this location for many films, but it never came to fruition. It didn’t work. Then came Kantara – which was ultimately shot here. It was a collective effort, in which more than 700 people from the village contributed, because of this tremendous participation I call my home KFC – Keradi Film City. ‘
Shetty also shared how Kantara has changed the village’s outlook towards cinema, saying, “This area is not very big in terms of films, but Kantara made them see themselves on screen. It became relatable. And love and blessings were received in abundance.”
The conversation later moved on to popular filmmakers, with Shetty praising Sandeep Reddy Vanga, director of blockbuster films like Arjun Reddy and Animal. Shetty commented, “It’s crazy, no one can think like him, and I think he can never think the same way again. I would love to be involved in all the projects he is currently working on.” Are.”
