Mumbai: Bollywood actress Rani Mukherjee dedicated his first national award to her late father and filmmaker Ram Mukherjee, saying that her father always dreamed of this “moment” for her.
Rani Mukherjee was awarded the National Award for Best Actress for her performance in the legal drama ‘Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway’, which was released in theaters in 2023.
The actress expressed happiness in receiving the first national award in her three -decade acting career. In a press note shared by YRF, the actress dedicated her historic victory to her father, Ram Mukherjee, who died in 2017 at the age of 84.
“I am really overwhelmed to receive my first national award in my 30 -year journey as an actor. This honor means the world for me, and I want to dedicate it to my late father who always dreamed of this moment for me. I remember him deeply today, and I know that it is his blessing and my mother’s constant strength and inspiration that I said,” Said said.
In a video shared by the team, Rani Mukherjee became emotional remembering her father’s wish to win the National Award.
He said, “My father always wanted me and wished me to win a national award, but when he was alive, I never won an award. Now, wherever he is, I am sure he will be very happy, will bless me from there because my biggest champion, my father, he was really vested for it, and this day has finally come.”

The ‘Hichki’ actress also thanked her fans for her support in her entire career. He called his fans the “greatest inspiration”.
Rani Mukherjee said, “Thanks to my incredible fans, for my side being through every high and lower. Your unwavering love and support has been my biggest inspiration. I know how much this award means to you all, and it brings me great pleasure and happiness to see it.”
The actress recalled the contribution of ‘Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway’ director Ashima Chibber and the contribution of the film actors in the production of the film during the Kovid -19 epidemic.
“I share the award with my magnificent director Ashima, my producer Nikkhal, Monisha, Madhu, and Jee’s person who brought the film together. At the top, I want to thank all my artists and crews from Estonia and India, without whom the film is not possible, especially during the challenge of Kovid -19. Every one of them is pronounced,” Rani Mukherjee said.
The actress thanked the National Award Jury for recognizing her work and making her best with the National Award.
Rani Mukherjee said, “A heartfelt thanks to the National Award Jury, who was respected for recognizing our work. This film, and this moment, will always hold a special place in my heart.”
The ‘Hichki’ actress described the award as a tribute to all the mothers around the world. She called her role “personal” in Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway as it honored her spirit of motherhood.
