Lotra (2013)

At the beginning of Ranveer, Ladies vs. Ricky Bahl was not well received by his fans or critics. Instead of considering his previous film options, the actor took a brave decision to remove himself from commercial cinema with Vikramaditya Motwen’s ‘Lootera’ in 2013. With this film, Ranveer performed his boundary as an actor.

O. Customized from a story by Henry, the film rests on a punchline and distributes it through a well -designed end. In the film, Ranveer plays an archaeologist Varun Srivastava, who travels to the village of Manikpur to study the land around the temple, owned by the landlord. Varun affects the zamindar with his knowledge and attracts his daughter Pakhi (Sonakshi Sinha).

However, Varun leads a mysterious second life, which ruins his relationship with Pakhi. Varun only runs to reunion with Pakhi under very different circumstances.

Golian’s Raslela Ram-Lala (2013)

As the release of his ‘Lootera’ in the same year, the actor turned 180 degrees to give one of his best performances since his debut, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s romantic drama through the romantic drama film ‘Ram-Lala’, unlike Deepika Padukone, which was at the time of his career.

He played the role of Rama, who falls in love with Leela (Deepika), but villagers oppose their union because they belong to communities that have been on obstacles for centuries. Due to continuous politics and hatred among his communities, Lovebirds decided to kill themselves, as they realized that they could not live together in peace.

Ranveer’s performance and chemistry with Deepika Padukone in the film was widely appreciated by critics and her fans.

Padmavat (2018)

With Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavat’, the actor came up with success, which definitely set new benchmarks. Some people will argue that his Khilji act in a period drama goes down as one of the best performances in the history of Indian cinema.

The film, which also starred in the lead roles by Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, was released in January 2018. In the film, Ranveer depicted Sultan Alauddin Khalji brilliantly, who is obsessed with catching the famous beauty of Mewar Rani Padmavati (Deepika).
