Blackpink’s Jennie is pushing the Beats by Dre brand name in a striking new campaign that also shows a stunning revival of her rapper persona. The CEO of Oud Atelier unveiled the launch of Beats’ expansion with the brand new Beats Solo Buds, featuring a stunning diss beat that harkens back to the past.
Although it’s just an excerpt, Jennie’s new solo music teaser strongly hints at her liberation from her past relationship, as she clearly expresses her thoughts in a powerful verse.
Jennie Kim’s verse on the new untitled track goes: ” Taken for granted / Held hostage / Carried baggage / Carried the past with us / As fate would have it / The future was written / They didn’t plan on making women women / But we came out of history / Like it’s bullshit / They didn’t want this / But we came out of history / Like justice. ” The BLACKPINK member resumes her official status as an exceptional rapper, dissing her old label, YG Entertainment.

Although no official connection has been found to BLACKPINK’s dispute with the South Korean agency, the company is infamous for “mistreating” its artists. Fans rejoiced over reports of the group’s separation from YG at the end of 2023 and winning full control over their artistic destiny with their solo paths. Even though the lack of group activities upsets BLINKs, they are eagerly awaiting the group’s reunion in time.

All Blackpink members, including Jennie, will officially embark on a solo adventure in December 2023 after declining to renew their individual contracts with their long-term agency, YG Entertainment.

A month before the girls parted ways with K-pop labels, Jennie founded her own exclusive label, Odd Atelier (OA), in November 2023. The multi-hyphenate trailblazing trendsetter is no stranger to fronting campaigns for A-list luxury brands. After earning the beloved recognition as the “Human Chanel” among her fans, Kim recently made her official debut as a runway model for Jacquemus. The international sensation has also reportedly become the first female K-pop solo artist to earn a platinum single in RIAA history for The Idol OST, One of the Girls.
