According to the police report, officers responded to the marina shortly before 1 a.m. for a report of a fight between people on a boat.

According to the report, when they arrived they found Scott, 33, standing on the dock and yelling at people on the ship. Officers told him to sit down, but he stood up again and continued yelling. They could smell alcohol on his breath, according to the report.

The man who called the police did not want to press charges, so Scott was let go.

However, when he left, Scott continued to yell obscenities at people on the ferry. He left as a passenger in a waiting car, but returned five minutes later and drove off again, ignoring officers’ orders, the report said.

Authorities say he then began yelling again, disturbing people on nearby boats and buildings. When officers asked if he was drunk, he replied, “This is Miami.” He was arrested.

Scott was released from the Miami-Dade County Jail before noon after posting a $650 bond.

After his release, he posted on social platform X, “Lol.”

His attorney, Bradford Cohen, said in a statement that Scott was “taken into custody due to a misunderstanding.”

“There was no physical altercation and we thank the officers for working with us to reach a quick and amicable resolution,” Cohen said.

Scott, one of hip-hop’s biggest names and whose birth name is Jacques Webster, has had over 100 songs chart on the Billboard Hot 100 and has released four singles that topped the chart: “Sicko Mode”, “Highest in the Room”, “The Scotts” and “Franchise”.

He has two children with his former girlfriend, media personality and businesswoman Kylie Jenner.

This isn’t the first time Scott has been involved in a police investigation.

Scott’s 2021 performance at the Astroworld Festival in his hometown of Houston resulted in ten deaths when the crowd overwhelmed. Attendees were so crowded that many were unable to breathe or move their arms. Those killed ranged in age from 9 to 27 and died of compression asphyxia, which one expert compared to being run over by a car.

Lawyers for victims alleged in lawsuits that the concert caused deaths and hundreds of injuries because of careless planning and a lack of concern for capacity and safety.

Scott, promoter Live Nation and the others who were sued denied the claims, saying safety was their primary concern. They said what happened was unforeseeable.

The last case was settled last month.

Following a police investigation, a grand jury declined to indict Scott as well as five others associated with the festival.
