Rasa is a soul-grooming culinary drama that examines the emotional power of food through a mysterious master chef’s visit.
New Delhi: Actor Shishir Sharma, known for his standout roles in films like Razi, Uri: The Surgical Strike, and Dangal, has officially launched the trailer of his upcoming film Rasa. On July 25, 2025, Slated for a dramatic release, Rasa is a specific culinary drama that mixes food, emotion and philosophy in a unique cinematic journey.
The dynamic pair directed by Angith Jayaraj and Pritish Jayaraj, and written by Rutuja Patil, Rasa promises to be a sensory-rich story. The film also includes performance in the leading roles by Rishi Bisa, Vishishtha Chawla and Rajiv Kumar.
The center of the rasa depicts Sharma’s depiction of Anant Nair, a famous yet mysterious Pakistani artist. The trailer indicates in a world where food tastes, becomes an expression of love, memory and personal change.
“Rasa is a film that the audience has to experience,” Sharma shared in the trailer launch. “This is a feeling that is served as a meal … the characters are taken to the ecstasy of enjoying something that they would never have experienced. It is very difficult to explain in words why Rasa is a one-watch. You have to experience it. It is unique in your story, design, writing and performances.
While reflecting his cooperation with the young filmmakers, he said, “The first script reading, I was bent. Working with Angith and Pritish was nothing short of magical. Their vision is fresh, and they bring an energy that inspires you to go beyond their boundary. I completely drown myself into the world of juice.”
The origin of the film was revealed by the directors as a short story concept years ago. “We both developed it as a short film story based on the concept of Angith for the first time. When we shifted to Mumbai with Rutuja Patil (writer), and felt that we had to dream, we took this idea, and developed it in a feature film. Handling VFX.
In collaboration with Aaron Rashid Films and Vidya Entertainment, Purnam Films and Indian Summer will be distributed by New Age Visuals, Rasa, produced by Angith Jayaraj, Pritish Jayaraj, and Rutuja Patil under the banner of Indian Summer.
Described by its creators as “labor of love”, Rasa aims to offer a thought-respective and emotional charge journey to the audience through a lens of culinary artistry. The film hits theaters on July 25, 2025.
