Mumbai: Rashami Desai is one of the most celebrated actresses of TV. Her life has been full of controversies, but still, she has managed to weather the storm. Rashami’s divorce from TV actor and her Uttaran co-star Nandish Sandhu was one of the most talked about topics in town. Rashami recently revealed how she was financially broke after her divorce from the star. In a podcast with Paras Chhabra, Rashami recalled her hardships after the divorce.
Rashami recalled, “I had bought a house during that time. I had a debt of about Rs 2.5 crore and apart from that… I remember I had a total debt of Rs 3.25-3.5 crore. I thought everything was fine but then suddenly my show got shut down. I was on the road for four days. I had an Audi A6 and I used to sleep in that car. All my belongings were at my manager’s house. I was completely cut off from my family. In those days, rickshaw-pullers used to give food for Rs 20. It used to come in a plastic bag with dal and rice mixed in it and they used to give two rotis with it. There were some stones in it too but I still ate it. These four days were very difficult.”
Rashami revealed that even her friends thought she was difficult to live with
In the same podcast, Rashami revealed, “I got divorced, even my friends thought I was very difficult because I was not expressive and I would stay in my shell. My family thought all my decisions were wrong. I somehow repaid my loan but I was still very stressed all the time. I wouldn’t sleep. I would just keep working. At that time, I started thinking that I would rather die.”
In the same interview, Rashmi talked about how she has been unlucky in love and that no man is meant for her in this life.
