Rath Yatra 2024: On Niladri Bije and Rasgulla Dibasa, Sudarshan Patnaik shares heartfelt sand art creations

New Delhi: The auspicious and much-awaited Jagannath Puri Rath Yatra, which is an annual procession, began on July 7 this year. Neeladri Bije – the concluding day of the festival holds great significance as it is believed that the deity returns to the Lord Jagannath temple on this day. It is said that the deity offers prasad to Lord Jagannath at the temple. Rasgulla to Goddess Lakshmi this day.

What is the Niladri BJ?

But Neeladri Bije, the presiding deity of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra return to the Ratna Bedi. According to the ritual, Lord Jagannath offers Rasgulla to Goddess Lakshmi to enter the temple. And this is why Neeladri Beej and Rasgulla Day are revered by devotees. It is celebrated on Ashadha Trayadashi.

He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for opening both the Ratna Bhandars and shifting the precious items to temporary rooms.

The temple city of Puri in Odisha is beautifully decorated during this festival time as thousands of devotees throng to visit the divine abode of the Lord and seek blessings of Lord Jagannath, brother Balabhadra and sister Goddess Subhadra.

The three chariots used to carry Lord Jagannath, brother Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra in the most prestigious chariot festival of the city of Puri vary in size and other details. Every year the chariots are beautifully designed and painted, both internally and externally.
