The historical film has a traditional art as Yakshagana, which is the main element during its legend. The ambitious project attempts to mix folk songs and drama, and is set to release on 18 April 2025. Music composer opens Veera ChandrasaHis style of music composition, criticism and handling more.
Part:
What is the origin of ‘Veera Chandrahasa’?
Yakshagana is a prosperous art form in the Karwali region. With this film, I wanted to solve some problems suffering from the actors. Every year, they work for 6 months and are unemployed for the next 6 months. They cannot perform during the rainy season. If this film does well, Yakshagana actors will get an opportunity to stay in films during the off-season. Well like that Veera Chandrasa As a tool to discuss these issues with the government. In addition, artists do not have modern sound kits. Their health is affected due to the high-patience shouts involved in their performance. They deserve lapel microphones instead of hanging microphones.
How have you used music in ‘Veera Chandrasa’?
Typically, I produce modern sounds using strings or violin. But for this film, I used only two tools: Madal and donations. We wanted the audience to feel vibration through the screen through the sound quality of two devices. For the entire film, we have used the 1600–1700 recording tracks of donations and Madal to create an atmosphere of Yakshagana experience on screen.

Shivrajkumar plays a major role in the film. Do you think he is suitable for the film?
The film is an attempt to take the popularity of Yakshagana beyond Karnataka, and you need a popular face to achieve it. We contacted Shivna (Shivrajkumar) after completing the first schedule of the film and showed them the scenes. He was thrilled to see our work. We gave him a solid character, and it is not a cameo for it. Even with the treatment of his cancer, he made time for our film. He showed a lot of energy throughout the shooting and followed all the rituals and customs related to Yakshagana.
What was the reason behind setting up a studio in his hometown Basur, Kundpura?
Initially, people thought that when I put so much money to set up a studio there, I lost it. He predicted that I would settle in Mumbai or Bengaluru, thinking that only big cities would generate revenue. I decided to return with the best products and set up a studio in my hometown. It has been five years, and the studio has so far generated 21 crore rupees. About 30 people are working there. I am happy with development.
In ‘Sala’, a group of women keeps chanting because Prabhas kills the anti. How did you create music by just mantras?
Music can excite people emotionally, and do not always require a song to increase it. For example, did we put songs with ‘Tandni Naan’ tune SectIt must have been limited to a certain language. As we hum the tune, we join it. Up to Brother-in-lawThe ‘or Yaa’ mantras expressed the pain of women from that tribe. You do not need a song for this. Up to KGF: Chapter 2Reena (starred by Shrinidhi Shetty) tells Rocky (Yash) that she is pregnant. She says that her mother is again being born as her daughter. The tune has become so viral during the scene that people have made it the tune of their collar. Similarly, when you sit near Rocky your mother’s memorial, the melody you hear is very popular. We produced it using a flute.
In ‘KGF: Chapter 2’, Rocky from Ramika Sen is a long part by looking at the kingdom of Rocky to the point where one of the gold biscuits is seized by the police. The complete stretch is very entertaining, thanks for your score …
When composing a background score, we consider characters and sequences. I see a series of scenes as a sequence. In the film, I have to go through the scene to the audience where Ramika Sen arrested and raided, until the police managed to receive the gold biscuits. I have to maintain that speed till the end of the sequence. There may be five to 10 scenes in a sequence, but the entire sequence must have the same tempo. With each score, the idea is to generate a mood.

‘Marco’ was a departure from hero-centered films such as ‘KGF’ and ‘Salar’. More than the hero, the violence took the center stage in that film. How different was your music for that film?
For Marco, I decided not to use my regular devices. Generally, I use dress brass and wire. I will adopt the epic orchestral style. I did not do this for this film. We used modern equipment Marco,
You often criticize for a loud score. How do you protect it?
I am not on any social media, so there is no question of being influenced by criticism. My goal is to take my music to the global stage. I want the audience to realize the Hollywood film while watching our films. He said, some English films have ear-spliting background scores. After Sect Music in films, our films has moved one step ahead. I use hybrid sounds to attract the younger generation. Take a spotify playlist of any young man, and they will have most English songs. Therefore, we should not fall behind in matching their quality. When we released the video ‘Sound of Salar’, who worked with me for the film, called me from America, he was thrilled to cooperate with me.
As your experiences develop in the field, how do you ensure that it does not get repetition?
I don’t think I have received repetition yet. I try to make unique music and hope to work in different types of films. In KGF: Chapter 1 And KGF: Chapter 2We had a similar music. When we did Brother-in-lawPeople were still Sect In the mind. He felt that was different from music Sect Only after watching the video ‘Sound of Salar’, which showed the production of the film’s music. Till then, he could not understand the difference in music in two films. Marco There was a different effort. People accepted it. He said, I also had to be ready for rejection. If I stop expectations and do not respond to everything said there. It helps in my music. In addition, people who work in the music department are very sensitive. This is why I got out of social media.
