Aarti Ravi and Ravi Mohan appeared before the Chennai family court on 21 May and filed a personal petition between their fight for divorce. Since Ravi Mohan announced his divorce last year, the Astraged couple are publicly accusing each other. In the family court, Ravi again saw his claim to divorce, while Aarti Ravi claimed Rs 40 lakh as monthly alimony.
Earlier, Ravi Mohan had filed a petition demanding a divorce, after which the court directed the couple to participate in reconciliation sessions. The couple were participating in these sessions as per instructions.
In a court hearing on 21 May, Ravi urged the court to reject Aarti’s petition to cohabit.
The court advised both sides to reconsider their petitions and postpone the case by June 12.
A day earlier, Aarti Ravi released a long statement and called Ravi Mohan’s rumor girlfriend Kenisha Francis a “homebreaker”. A part of his statement was read, “The truth needs to say-for one time and for all. Money, strength, intervention, or control-None of these is why we do not get married. There is a third person in our marriage. There was nothing between us. It was nothing among us. It was not just darkness of your life.
Ravi Mohan made headlines last year after announcing divorce from Aarti last year. In a counter-post, Aarti claimed that the decision was “without his consent”.
Ravi Mohan mentioned in his note that he has not decided to divorce in a hurry. He wrote, “After a lot of views, reflections and discussions, I have taken a difficult decision to move forward with the disintegration of marriage with Aarti. This decision was not made in a hurry and it is aroused for personal reasons that I believe that everyone involved is in the best interest.” He also changed his name with Jayam Ravi.
Ravi Mohan, son of veteran film editor A Mohan, is known for films such as Jayam, Das, Majhai, Bomrilu, Paranmai, Romeo Juliet, Bhumi and Siren.
For Anward, Aarti is the daughter of television producer Sujath Vijaykumar. Ravi Mohan and Aarti are parents of two sons, Aarav and Ayan.
