Shyam Benegal’s classic churn has been re-released in theatres. Originally released in 1976, this film has once again caught people’s attention. Its special screening was held in Mumbai on Saturday night. Stars like Richa Chadha, Ali Fazal, Naseeruddin Shah, Swara Bhaskar, Prateik Babbar and Jackie Shroff attended this screening.
Richa Chadha looked gorgeous in a blue dress. She was accompanied by her husband Ali Fazal as always. Ali was captured on camera. Swara Bhaskar looked beautiful in a tissue saree. Jackie Shroff was also spotted at the venue. Late actress Smita Patil’s son and actor Prateik Babbar was spotted with his fiancée Priya Banerjee. Take a look at the pictures below.
ICYMI: churn It is the only Indian film to be screened in the Cannes Classics section at the film festival. The film stars actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Girish Karnad, Smita Patil and Amrish Puri. Recently, the film premiered at a prestigious festival at Salle Buñuel. Ratna Pathak Shah, Prateik Babbar and Nirmala Kurien, daughter of Verghese Kurien (the visionary behind the White Revolution in India) attended the screening.
For those who don’t know, churn This book is based on the milk cooperative movement of Dr. Verghese Kurien. 5 lakh farmers donated Rs 2 each for this film. The film also featured Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Anant Nag and Suresh Bedi.
