Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia D’Souza visit Saif Ali Khan at Lilavati Hospital

Mumbai: Actors Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia were spotted on Friday at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital, where Saif Ali Khan is being admitted after he was attacked at his Bandra residence early Thursday.

Saif’s daughter, actress Sara Ali Khan, was also seen arriving at the hospital later in the evening.

Earlier, Saif’s staff members were brought to Bandra police station for questioning in connection with the case, but were later allowed to leave.

Mumbai Police has clarified that no arrest has been made yet and the investigation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, the auto-rickshaw driver who took the actor to the hospital shared details of what happened and how he came forward to help.

Speaking to ANI, the driver told that he saw a woman trying to hire an auto-rickshaw at 2 am on Thursday. Soon after, he reached near the spot and saw that the ‘Hum Tum’ actor was covered in blood and coming out of the gate with some other people. The actor was “bleeding from his neck and back”, the driver said.

“I drive my vehicle at night. It was around 2-3 in the night when I saw a lady trying to hire an auto, but no one stopped. I also heard calls for a rickshaw from inside the gate. I Took a turn and stopped my car near the gate. A man covered in blood came out with 2-4 other people and decided to go to Lilavati hospital, and later I came to know that he was Saif. Tha Ali Khan, I saw blood flowing from his neck back,” Rana told ANI.

Saif was attacked by an intruder in his 11th floor flat in Bandra in the early hours of Thursday. The incident took place when the intruder allegedly confronted the actor’s maid at his residence. As Saif attempted to intervene, the situation escalated into a violent altercation, resulting in multiple stab wounds to the actor.

Saif underwent surgery in Lilavati. According to doctors, Saif suffered major injury to his thoracic spine due to the knife getting stuck in his spine, and they needed to remove the 2.5-inch long blade from the actor’s spine and repair his leaked spinal fluid. Surgery was done for.

Although Saif is “out of danger”, doctors continue to monitor him.
