Mumbai: Popular television actor Ronit Roy opened about the intensive preparation playing the role of King Someshwar, the father of Prithviraj Chauhan in the historical epic “Chakravarti Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan”.
From studying historical figures to being in physical shape like a warrior, the actor shared how he dips himself into a ruler’s mindset and personality as he is known for his legacy for his legacy. Talking to IANS, ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’ the actor considered how his role was. Ronit shared that he immediately agreed to the idea of portraying a king which was more than a warrior than a ruler.
“My initial response when I was introduced to Someshwar, so the first meeting, the producer Abhimanyu Singh, was with the producer, and I liked this kind of idea, you know, stepping back in history and playing the role of a king, who was also a warrior, more than a king, so I was attracted to that idea. I required a thoughtful mix of mental and physical preparation to bring a historical character in life.
While detailed references to King Someshwar were limited, Ronit found inspiration in other historical figures and overshadowed the script to understand his character. The actor also emphasized the importance of physical readiness for the role. “Preparing for such a role, you know, of course, there was not much detail on the character I am playing, but other historical characters that can take some inspiration from. And then there is definitely a script in which the character is evacuated.
So, yes, preparations are made on all that information. And then there is a physical expression and preparation for the character.
