RV University (RVU) and Hombale Films have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to set up the School of Film, Media and Creative Arts (SOFMCA) at RVU’s campus in Bengaluru.
RVU and Hombale Films have stated that the partnership aims to “transform the landscape of undergraduate and postgraduate education in film, media, OTT and creative arts, and offer students a unique blend of academic learning and industry experience”.
SoFMCA will welcome its first batch of students in August 2024.

Hombale Films Founder Vijay Kiragandur said the collaboration is aimed at developing and empowering the next generation of filmmakers and media professionals.
Dr. MP Shyam, Chairman, Rashtriya Shikshan Samiti Trust (parent body of RVU) said, “This collaboration will not only provide our students with world-class training and industry experience at the biggest studios and production houses in the country but will also contribute significantly to the growth of the film and media industry.”
