Ryan Reynolds returned to play Deadpool in the threequel earlier this year after a six-year hiatus. He says the process completely “swallows” his life.

Ryan Reynolds’ name is synonymous with the popular adult superhero character of Deadpool. but at Actors on Variety Actors In the chat, the actor confessed that he is unsure about the future of the character. Ryan Reynolds has played Deadpool in three films.

Ryan on Deadpool’s future

“This one (Deadpool and Wolverine) came out six years after the last one. One reason is that it consumes my entire life. From development to post-production to marketing and promo – you can’t keep your hands off it during all of it. I have four kids and I never want to be on a first name basis with any of them. No, I never want to be absent and I don’t want to miss them. I die inside when I see their face, they have some competition, some game or something, and I missed it,” Ryan said.

Ryan sees Deadpool as a secondary character

“Shawn and I made a movie that has a beginning, middle and end. It’s a complete experience rather than an advertisement for someone else. Sometimes it’s important for a movie to make room to simply remain a movie. The second thing is that I see Deadpool as more of a supporting character rather than the center. We sometimes put that in the center because that’s what they want. But you can’t center him unless you take everything away from him. You have to create a situation for him where he is very much the underdog. And I don’t think I can do that again. So I feel like if he comes back, it will be in someone else’s film. Ryan said, Channing Tatum is very excited to play Gambit and I would be very happy to play the fifth banana in his or anyone else’s film.

Channing Tatum had an extended cameo as the X-Men character Gambit in Deadpool and the Wolverine. Before Ryan was involved in the Deadpool threequel, he had been lobbying for a standalone film for years. Ryan also said that he wished to receive the same applause that Wesley Snipes received at San Diego Comic-Con upon returning as Blade in a cameo in Deadpool and the Wolverine.
