Saif Ali Khan knife attack case: Mumbai Police reached the actor’s Bandra home to record his statement

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who was recently attacked at his Bandra residence, was discharged from Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday after five days of treatment. His return home was accompanied by heavy police security, and there were visuals of the actor smiling and waving to the paparazzi as he walked out of the hospital.

While returning home, Saif greeted his fans and media present outside his residence.

On Wednesday, Mumbai Police reached the ‘Devra’ actor’s house to record his statement on this matter.

Meanwhile, actor Ronit Roy, known for his roles in TV shows and films, was seen with Saif while returning home on Tuesday.

Many were curious about Roy’s presence, as he was seen coordinating with police officials and overseeing the security arrangements at Saif and Kareena Kapoor’s house.

It has since been confirmed that Saif Ali Khan has hired Ronit Roy’s security firm, ‘Ace Security & Protection’, to beef up his security following the attack.

Saif was attacked last week by an intruder, later identified as Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad, who entered his house with the intention of stealing.

The actor attempted to intervene, leading to a violent confrontation, during which he suffered a knife wound to his thoracic spine. After the attack, Saif was immediately taken to Lilavati Hospital for treatment.

The auto-rickshaw driver who helped Saif that night spoke to ANI, recalling the incident in detail.

“It was around 2-3 in the night when I saw a lady trying to hire an auto, but no one stopped. I also heard calls for a rickshaw from inside the gate. I took a U-turn and went to the gate. Stopped his vehicle nearby. A bloodied man came out with 2-4 others, they put him in the auto and decided to go to Lilavati hospital, and later I came to know that it was Saif Ali Khan. .

He told that when he reached the hospital, Saif was bleeding from his neck and back.

Following the incident, Mumbai Police initiated investigation and registered a case under various sections of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS).

Accused Shahzad was caught at Hiranandani Estate in Thane while trying to flee to his native village in Bangladesh. Police said he is a resident of Jhalokati district of Bangladesh.

Following the tragic incident, Saif’s wife, actress Kareena Kapoor, took to Instagram to address the situation.

He shared a statement expressing the family’s emotional distress, and described the day as “incredibly challenging”. Kareena also thanked well-wishers for their support but requested privacy during these difficult times.
