Mumbai: Mumbai Police has found multiple fingerprints of the accused in the Saif Ali Khan stabbing death case at the actor’s Bandra residence.
Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked last week by an intruder, later identified as Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, who entered his house with the intention of stealing. After a violent confrontation with the accused, Saif Ali Khan was stabbed with a knife on his thoracic spine and other body parts. After the attack, he was immediately taken to Lilavati Hospital for treatment.
In the ongoing investigation, the police found fingerprints of the accused on the stairs of the building, the toilet door and the door handle of her son Jeh’s room.
According to the police, the accused tried to enter three houses before reaching Saif Ali Khan’s house with the intention of stealing. Mumbai Police believes that the discovered fingerprints will play an important role in the investigation.
According to the police statement, the accused had entered the famous actor’s house with the intention of stealing. A case has been registered under sections 311, 312, 331(4), 331(6) and 331(7) of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS).
Furthermore, the police said that the accused was planning to flee to his native village in Bangladesh when he was detained at Hiranandani Estate in Thane. Shehzad was sent to five-day police custody by the Bandra Holiday Court on Sunday.
His lawyer, Sandeep Shekhane, refuted the police claims and alleged that “no proper investigation” has been conducted so far.
“5 days police custody has been granted. Court has asked police to submit report within 5 days. Police has no proof of him being Bangladeshi. They said he came here 6 months ago, this is wrong ” Statement. He has been living here for more than 7 years. His family is in Mumbai… This is a clear violation of 43A, no proper investigation has been done.
The case was reported by 56-year-old staff nurse Aleyamma Philip. Following the attack, the actor was immediately rushed to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital, where he was treated for serious injuries, including stab wounds on his thoracic spine.
Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was discharged from Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday after surgery. On returning to his residence in Bandra, he waved to the media. The ‘Hum Tum’ actor looked healthy and greeted the paparazzi with a smile. Kareena Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor were seen at the residence.
