Saif Ali Khan stabbing case: Mumbai Police confirms that the person held for questioning has no connection with the incident, no one has been detained so far

New Delhi: In another twist to the shocking incident of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan being injured by an assailant at his Bandra residence in an attempted theft case, the police has now given clarification on the custody of a man. Mumbai Police said that the person who was taken in for questioning during the day has no connection with Saif’s case.

ANI quoted Mumbai Police as saying, the person brought to Bandra Police Station for questioning has no connection with the Saif Ali Khan attack case. “No one has been detained at present in the attack case on Saif Ali Khan.”

Earlier, Mumbai Police had said that the accused was last seen near Bandra Railway Station and a search is on to nab him, an official told ANI. Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an intruder in his 11th floor flat in Bandra at around 2:30 am on Thursday. According to doctors, Saif had suffered major injury to his thoracic spine due to the knife stuck in his spine, and it was necessary to remove the 2.5-inch long knife from the actor’s spine and repair his ‘spinal fluid leak’. Surgery was done for. Although Saif is “out of danger”, doctors continue to monitor him. After surgery he was shifted to ICU. Today he has been moved from the ICU to a special room for recovery.

Mumbai Police registered an FIR regarding the attack on the actor and recorded the statement of the complainant, who is a maid employed by the actor.

It is alleged in the complaint that the attacker demanded Rs 1 crore from the family. According to the complainant, the intruder allegedly attacked the maid with a hexa blade, which hit her on both her hands.
