Jaipur: The legal problem of Bollywood actors Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre has been revived in the 1998 Blackbuck poaching case, as the Rajasthan government has approached the High Court, which challenges their acquittal.
The holiday-to-petition was heard in the court of Justice Manoj Kumar Garg on Friday, who directed to list the case with the pending cases.
The next hearing in this case has been scheduled for July 28.
According to government lawyer Advocate Mahipal Vishnoi, it was allegedly illegally illegally during the shooting of the Bollywood film ‘Hum Sixty-six Hanna’ in Kankni village near Jodhpur.
On April 5, 2018, the trial court convicted actor Salman Khan and sentenced him to five years in jail.
However, co-accused Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam, Sonali Bendre, and Dushyant Singh were acquitted due to lack of adequate evidence.
The appeal of the state government challenges these children and it will also include the transfer petition permissions and issues related to the punishment given to Salman Khan.
The case of Kankani village was reported in the year 1998, after which Salman Khan was convicted on April 5, 2018 and was sent to Jodhpur Central Jail.
After depositing Rs 50,000, he was granted conditional bail on 7 April 2018. He remains on bail, and the case is currently pending in the High Court.
Salman was sentenced to five years on April 10, 2006 by the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court. He appealed to the High Court, which acquitted him on 25 July 2016.
The state government challenged it in the Supreme Court, where the case is pending.
On February 17, 2006, Salman was sentenced to one year in jail by the CJM court in another case. He was later acquitted by the High Court.
The state government again appealed to the Supreme Court, and the hearing is still pending.
Salman was also accused in the arms act case. Later, on January 18, 2017, he was acquitted in connection with illegal occupation of weapons during incidents of poaching.
