Mumbai: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who was brutally attacked with a knife at his Bandra residence, is currently recovering at Lilavati Hospital. The actor’s doctors have described him as a “hero” for his bravery and patience during the tragic incident. Saif reached the hospital soaked in blood but now he is out of danger and is showing significant signs of improvement.
Dr. Neeraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, while addressing the media, emphasized how lucky Saif was to escape a serious spine injury. “He is doing very well at the moment. His parameters have improved and he is being shifted from the ICU to a special room for him. Saif was very lucky. The knife injury was just 2 mm away from his spinal cord. If it had gone inside too much, the spinal cord could have been damaged. He is very, very lucky.”
Dr. Uttamani also highlighted that Saif’s prompt medical care played a vital role in his recovery.
Neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange: “Saif is doing very well”
Dr. Nitin Dange, the neurosurgeon who operated on Saif, gave more details about the actor’s condition. “He is performing excellently. We also let him walk a bit, and he can walk well without much pain or any other symptoms. Looking at his parameters, reports and all the injuries, it is safe to shift him from the ICU to a special room.
However, Dr Dange cautioned, “He needs to take rest for some time, especially because of the wounds on his back, which pose a potential risk of infection. Movement is restricted for a week, and visitors will be limited to ensure a speedy recovery.
The doctor assured fans that there are no signs of paralysis and Saif’s injuries have been treated successfully.
Saif’s bravery during the attack was widely praised, with hospital staff hailing him as a hero. The actor was reportedly stabbed multiple times while saving his sons Taimur and Jeh from an intruder. Despite his severe injuries, he maintained his composure, allowing quick medical intervention.
Saif’s wife Kareena Kapoor Khan stayed with him during his recovery. In a recent statement, he urged fans and media to respect his privacy during this challenging time. Social media has been flooded with prayers and support messages for Saif, with fans calling him a real-life hero.
While Saif’s condition is improving, his doctors have stressed the importance of rest and limited activity to ensure proper healing.
