We earlier told today that Oscar winning music composer AR Rahman was admitted to the hospital after complaining of chest pain and was later discharged after a regular checkup. Now, Saira Bhanu, the eminent wife of the composer, has issued a statement, in which her husband wishes for a quick recovery.
“Assalamualaikum. I wish him a quick recovery. I received the news that he had an angiography after complaining of chest pain. By the grace of Allah, she is doing well now, ”she said in the statement.
In addition, Saira requested media portals not to refer to Rahman’s ‘ex -wife’ as they are only separated and not divorced. “We are still husband and wife; It is just that we have separated because I have not been doing good for two years, and I did not want to give him too much stress. But please do not refer me to me as a ‘ex -wife’. We are separated but my prayer is always with him ”
Saira said, “I want to tell everyone, especially to my family, not to take a lot of stress and care,” Saira said.
Rahman and Saira announced their separation in November 2024, ending their 29 -year marriage. A statement by Saira’s lawyer Vandana Shah cited “significant emotional stress” as the reason for the decision.
Earlier today, Rahman was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai. A source close to the family also said that he had complained of inconvenience in his chest and doctors cited dehydration as caused by inconvenience. The composer was later discharged after a regular checkup.
It comes a week later when Saira was hospitalized after a medical emergency and had to undergo surgery. After his recovery, he accepted the unbreakable support of his close friends, including Sound designer Regul Pucutty and his wife Shadia, as well as Rahman. He thanked him for his kindness and encouragement, focusing on rapid recovery.
Saira and Rahman have three children – Khatija Rahman, Rahema Rahman, and R Amin.
On the work front, Mr. Rahman composed music for Vicky Kaushal’s blockbuster historical film, ChorusThe musician has Lahore 1947, thug LifeAnd In your Ishaq In other films in line-up.
Last month, the composer performed with the famous pop star Ed Sheeran at the later concert in Chennai. Many videos of the concert showed Rahman and Ed Jam in the remix of ‘Shape of You’ and ‘Urvashi Urvashi’.
