Filmmaker Sajid Khan, who was once accused of sexual harassment by multiple women, reveals how he dealt with the allegations and what his life has been like all these six years. Sajid Khan was removed as director from the film after #Metoo allegations. housefull 4in an interview with Hindustan Times, Sajid Khan recalled how he was left with no work overnight, due to which he lost his sanity. The filmmaker admitted that over the years he thought about “ending” his life several times.
“I thought about ending my life many times in the last six years. It was very bad, in the sense that I was out of work,” he told Hindustan Times.
Eventually, the director got approval from the Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA), but it did not affect his career.
He said, “Despite getting clearance from the Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA), I am trying to get back on my feet. Due to no income, I had to sell my house and live in a rented flat. “
“I was 14 when I started earning because my father (actor, producer and director, Kamran Khan) passed away, leaving me and (my sister) Farah (Khan Kunder, filmmaker and choreographer) in debt Today, I wish my mother (Maneka Irani died in 2024) all the best and see me trying to get back on my feet. When asked how his family members reacted to the allegations, Sajid revealed that he was worried about his mother’s health. He tried to hide this news from her for ten days.
“Ten days before this happened, I was shooting in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, and my mother was not well. When I had to leave the film, I was worried that if she found out she would have a heart attack. I asked Farah (sister) to hide the newspaper from her.”
“For 10 days, I pretended everything was fine, left the house and came back as if I was on set… I have never said anything against any woman, and never will. But Yes, the last six years have been a period of self-assessment.
Everyone else named in the movement went back to work, but I did not return. He felt harsh. This made me realize that I not only needed to change my life but also the way I talked to people. I am more composed now”, he added.
