New Delhi: Salim Khan, father of experienced screenwriter and actor Salman Khan, has given Indian cinema some of the most talked -about cinematic gems. Along with Javed Akhtar, as part of the pair of Javed’s Vipul screenwriting pair, he brought a revolution in Bollywood among many others with films like Sholay, Zangeyer, Dewar and Sita and Geeta. In his latest interview with The Free Press Journal, Salim Khan opened on many things. He talked about how his family does not eat beef and he also remembered taking ‘set ferrus’ with wife Salma Khan.

Explaining his point, the famous writer said, “From Indore till date, we never had beef. Beef is eaten by most Muslims because it is the cheapest meat! Mohammed has adopted good things from every religion.

Salim Khan for marrying Salma
He reminded me of taking ‘Sat Ferrus’ before the marriage ceremony. He said, “You see, I have lived my whole life among Hindus. Even in police stations and colonies, we celebrated Hindu festivals, because everyone from soldiers to head constables was a Hindu. So it was not as if we started keeping Ganpati at home only after our marriage. My family had no objection to my marriage.”
“My father -in -law, a dentist, was from the Dogra community. He had examined my background when I came about my marriage and respected the fact that I came from a good family and was well educated. He clearly told me that he was his only objection. Even though we were due to disagreement or quarrel, my wife had notes them!
