New Delhi: Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Hiramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’ on Netflix has established itself as a cultural phenomenon and has won the hearts of audiences across the world with its big canvas, stellar acting, gripping story and chartbuster music.
Netflix revealed in its Q2 2024 earnings call that ‘Hiramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’ is Netflix India’s biggest drama series ever with 15 million views. The series was in the Global Top 10 TV (non-English) in 43 countries for four consecutive weeks and in India’s Top 10 TV list for 11 weeks.
Talking about SLB during the company’s Q2 2024 earnings call, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said, “SLB is one of India’s most celebrated filmmakers, and he took this incredibly ambitious series and brought it to the screen on Netflix, directing every episode, and it’s our biggest drama series ever in India.”
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a renowned filmmaker who holds expertise in every aspect of filmmaking, be it visuals, acting, storytelling, music and set design. His wide skill set makes him a pioneer in shaping and pushing Indian cinema forward.
He also launched his music label ‘Bhansali Music’ with the first song ‘Sakala Ban’ under the music label from his debut web show ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’.
