New Delhi: Actress Divya Khosla has left her mark in the lead role of Savi. Directed by Abhinay Deo, the film depicts the journey of a contented housewife whose life turns upside down when her husband is arrested. As the story progresses, Savi transforms from a weak woman to a determined force fighting to get her husband back.
During the trailer launch of the film, Divya Khosla revealed that the story is very similar to the mythological folktale of Sati Savitri, where Savitri wins back the soul of her husband Satyavan from Yamraj.
Addressing this, Divya says, ‘In childhood, my mother used to tell me the story of Sati Savitri, where Savitri fights with Yamraj and brings her husband Satyavan back to life. That story is about courage and determination. ‘A woman can fight the entire universe for love.’
Apart from this he said, ‘I am very proud to say that our story Savi is a modern version, we are showing the story of Savitri to the Indian audience. Every woman will feel connected to this story.
Directed by Abhinay Deo under the banner of Vishesh Films and T-Series.
Saavi is produced by Mukesh Bhatt, Bhushan Kumar and Krishna Kumar. The film will hit the theaters on May 31, 2024.
