Earlier this year, applications were invited online for youth wishing to be part of groups to be part of groups. The last five members were selected from a shortlist of 12, which was placed in Goa via an intensive bootcamp. “It was important that our last group was not only talented to music, but also chemistry. There is something special about them in which they are from where they are from amazing stories,” says Sawan.
Given the number of global music superstars who start the youth and build muscle on the way, it was also a conscious decision to choose these members. “It looked like an investment for the future, and most importantly, inspired other children of the country to feel that they have the opportunity to represent India,” Sawan says.

“It all comes together in such an organic way, and nothing feels forced. I also feel that Arjit Singh, who collaborated on the song, is probably one of the greatest singers of all time and I am very happy that a new version of ‘Neelam’ is coming, in which it is very much with Arijit,” he said.
