According to a CNN report, Sean “Diddy” Combs’ accusers are set to testify before a federal grand jury. The 54-year-old rapper is named in multiple lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault. Sources familiar with the investigations told the outlet that the US Justice Department is preparing to present the criminal case to a grand jury in order to indict Combs.
Diddy’s accusers to be presented before a grand jury by the federal government
The disgraced music giant is named in eight lawsuits, seven of which directly accuse him of sexual assault. Meanwhile, the lawsuit filed by Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura has been settled. A CNN report reveals that potential witnesses have been reported to be brought in to testify before a federal grand jury in New York City. This will further the government’s ongoing investigation into the Last Night hitmaker.
Although a Homeland Security Investigations Agency (HSI) spokesperson declined to comment on whether Diddy’s accusers would be brought before a grand jury to testify, they did confirm that the investigation is still ongoing. Sources also told the outlet that witnesses who have been notified have not yet been subpoenaed to testify.
However, he cautioned that HSI is still gathering evidence and questioning potential sources of information as part of the federal investigation into the music producer. The source further added that investigators are working towards ensuring that the indictment, if any, is “bulletproof.”
While Combs has denied the claims against him in multiple lawsuits, federal authorities raided his homes in Los Angeles and Miami last month. It was revealed at the time that the searches were conducted as part of a federal investigation being conducted by a team from the Department of Homeland Security. Law enforcement sources told the outlet that the investigation also focused on sex trafficking.
