Search warrants were issued and executed at his homes in Miami and Beverly Hills as a result of criminal investigations following the indictments.

Diddy arrested in Manhattan
According to TMZ, Diddy was arrested at a midtown hotel in Manhattan where he was staying. Homeland Security arrived at the hotel late Monday night and made the arrest. Following the arrest, Diddy was taken to the borough’s FBI field office. A law enforcement source told the media outlet that the hip hop legend’s original arrest was planned for Tuesday, September 17.
A source familiar with the indictment told the New York Times that the arrest was made after Diddy was indicted by a grand jury. The indictment is currently sealed and charges are yet to be announced. However, the source told the media outlet that the American rapper was arrested on racketeering and sex trafficking charges. He had been under police investigation ever since his girlfriend Cassie Ventura filed a lawsuit against him alleging sex trafficking and years of abuse.

Diddy’s lawyer reacts to the arrest
Marc Agnifilo, formerly known as Puff Daddy’s lawyer, told TMZ, “We are disappointed by the decision that Mr. Combs is being prosecuted in what is believed to be an unjust prosecution by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Sean “Diddy” Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, loving his children and working to uplift the black community.”
He defended his client, saying, “He is an imperfect man, but not a criminal. To his credit, Mr. Combs has been cooperative with this investigation and voluntarily moved to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all of the facts. These are the actions of an innocent man who has nothing to hide, and he is eager to clear his name in court.”
