Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is being treated like other inmates as he is on trial on serious charges including sex trafficking.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is not being given special privileges in jail while he awaits his trial for the charges against him, a source with knowledge of the situation tells PEOPLE. He is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn after being denied bail twice and has pleaded not guilty in court. Diddy was arrested in Manhattan on Monday night and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution.

Diddy is being treated like any other criminal
Diddy was remanded into the MDC the day after his arrest on September 17. A source told the media outlet, “He is being treated like any other detainee awaiting trial. Like all public figures in his position, he was placed on suicide watch upon admission to the facility as a precaution.” The source added that the hip-hop mogul is “very concerned about his children and their well-being.”
“He has three minor children, two of whose parents are no longer in prison. Four of his seven children have parents that are not in prison. Mr. Combs has been able to speak with his family members and children on the phone for some time,” he told the media outlet.
Diddy’s attorneys Marc Agnifilo and Tenney R. Geragos wrote in Diddy’s bail application that the Brooklyn facility is “not suitable for pretrial detention” and described the facility’s conditions as “appalling”. Two Manhattan judges rejected bail despite Diddy’s offer of $50 million instead of the average $2 million.

Accusations against Diddy
Diddy has been accused of arranging freak offs, which involved sexual performances by male sex workers and women who were often forced to participate. He is also facing multiple lawsuits, which were filed after his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura accused him of raping and abusing her over the years. However, Cassie’s case was closed the very next day and Diddy, formerly known as P. Diddy, denied all the allegations.
Diddy has pleaded guilty in court and is scheduled to appear before a judge in early October. His lawyers told the media outlet, “He is committed to fighting this case and has full confidence in both his legal team and the truth.”
