The mother of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has defended the music mogul, who now faces trial on sex trafficking, racketeering and multiple other allegations of sexual assault. Janice Combs’ statement was shared by Figgers Law on Instagram, with the caption saying in part, “Ms. Combs, through her undersigned attorney and on behalf of Combs’s family, issues the following statement regarding her son, Shawn Combs.
‘My son deserves to have his full day in court to finally share his side of the story’
In the statement, Janice said, “It is heartbreaking to see that my son was judged not for the truth, but for a story made up of lies. To witness what appears to be the public murder of my son, before my son has had a chance to prove his innocence, is a pain too unbearable to put into words. Like every human being, my son also deserves to have his day in court, ultimately share his side and prove his innocence.”
Janice also referenced video of the 2016 Cassie Ventura attack in the statement. “I am not here to make my son look perfect because he is not. He’s made mistakes in his past, as we all have,” she said. “My son may not have been completely truthful about some things, such as denying that he had ever been violent with an ex-girlfriend, even though hotel surveillance revealed otherwise.”
Janice revealed why she thinks her son settled with Ventura out of court last November. He said, “Sometimes, truth and lies become so closely intertwined that it becomes scary to accept part of the story, especially when that truth is outside the norm or too complex to be believed.” Could.”
He continued, “This is why I believe my son’s civil legal team chose to settle the ex-girlfriend’s lawsuit rather than fight it to the end, resulting in an adverse impact because the federal government The verdict was used against my son. An admission of guilt.”
Ventura filed a lawsuit against Diddy in November 2024, accusing him of repeated physical abuse and rape.
Meanwhile, Janice defended Diddy regarding the various allegations made against him, including sexual assault allegations. “Not being completely clear on an issue does not mean that my son is guilty of the despicable allegations and serious charges leveled against him,” he said.
Janice continued, “Many individuals who were wrongfully convicted and later exonerated were stripped of their freedom not because they were guilty of the crimes with which they were charged , but because they did not fit the image of what this society considers a ‘good person.’ History has shown us how individuals can be wrongfully convicted because of their past actions or mistakes.
Janice claimed that the allegations against Diddy were “motivated not by justice, but by those seeking financial gain.” “To see my son’s life being ruined before my eyes and to see the world making jokes and laughing is something I will never forget,” she said.
Janice added, “To see the world turn against my son so quickly and easily with lies and misunderstandings, without hearing his side of the story or giving him a chance to present his side, is truly painful.”
Diddy’s legal team confirmed the authenticity of the statement to Page Six, the outlet reports.
