Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and Jennifer Lopez dated from 1999 to 2001, but it wasn’t a smooth ride. Their time together involved many issues, including a strange and confusing threat from Diddy that left many shocked. Even JLo suspected that Diddy was cheating on her.
Jennifer revealed in an interview in 2001 Rolling Stone Diddy would often threaten to divorce her, despite the fact that they were never married. “Many times. He told me many times, ‘I want a divorce,'” J.Lo said during the interview. She explained that this threat would come up often, usually when they were struggling to find time to see each other due to their busy schedules.
Diddy, frustrated by the lack of time together, would say, “I’d be away too much, or he … he couldn’t go out, whatever, but he’d say, ‘So, where do I send the papers?'”

Jennifer broke up with Diddy because of their different lifestyles
While Jennifer described herself as a “homebody,” Diddy preferred to spend his free time at the club. “Puff [Diddy] “I love going out,” he said.
“He’s been going to clubs all his life, doing his own thing. I’ve always been at home. So when we’re together we just turn off whatever we’re doing. I don’t really like to talk about us, because I don’t think it’s anyone’s business. It’s a different thing. He’s an artist, I’m an artist, we have two different careers.”
Still, the “On The Floor” singer was keen to keep many details about her relationship private, saying she wanted to keep certain aspects “sacred and private.”
After their break-up, J.Lo admitted how exhausted Diddy was. Speaking about the two years she spent with Diddy, she revealed Vanity Fair“It wasn’t a great time in my life. It was scary. And we’d broken up a couple of times before that, and then got back together and broken up again, and nobody knew about it. It was very tumultuous. It was emotionally draining at the end. It was good that I was young.”

Notably, the couple was once arrested together after police found an unregistered gun in Diddy’s car during a traffic stop. The incident resulted in Jennifer spending fourteen hours at the police station. JLo described it as “an unfortunate situation”, and said, “We were in a place we shouldn’t have been. It was a bad situation, and any bad situation that involves celebrities, people run away.”
