Sean “Diddy” Combs will remain behind bars after prosecutors revealed in court shocking text messages he sent to his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura after the hotel attack.
The rapper, who made a second appearance in a New York City court, will remain in jail until his federal trial on sex trafficking and fraud charges.
His second appearance in court came when he offered a bail amount of $50 million to get out of the infamous Metropolitan Detention Center. However, the federal court rejected his plea.
Diddy’s attorneys argued before District Court Judge Andrew Carter that the rapper posed no threat to the public, but the judge rejected their plea, saying there was “no condition or set of conditions” that would guarantee the safety of the community or that he would not be able to contact witnesses.
To bolster their argument that Diddy should remain in jail until his trial, prosecutors released an alleged exchange of messages he sent to his ex-girlfriend.
Messages from Diddy to Ventura shown in court said, “Call me, the police are here. I have six kids. You please call. I’m surrounded. You gotta leave me alone.”
The rapper pleaded not guilty to charges of racketeering, sex trafficking and providing transportation for prostitutes. In Diddy’s defense, his attorney Marc Agnifilo said his client is “an innocent man who has nothing to hide.”

A look at Diddy and Venture’s relationship
After first going public with their romance in 2012, Ventura and Combs were spotted together at various fashion events and parties in Hollywood.
However, the “Me & U” singer revealed years of disturbing abuse claims against Diddy Combs in a lawsuit last November.
She claimed that outside of their personal life, Diddy dictated every detail of her life, forced her to have sex with other men, and introduced her to a life of “excessive alcohol and substance abuse.”
Ventura said Diddy broke into her home and sexually assaulted her when she wanted to break up with him in 2018. However, the rapper has denied her allegations.
A surveillance video published by CNN showed Diddy physically abusing Ventura at a Los Angeles hotel in 2016.
