Selena Gomez spoke candidly in an interview. TimeSpeaking about her mental health struggles, the Only Murders in the Building actress, who was previously diagnosed with lupus, said she felt lonely when she was single but eventually accepted it. But being single hasn’t stopped her from planning a family and hoping to adopt a child someday.
‘Soon-to-be single mom’
The Love On singer said, “I was alone for five years, and I got used to it. A lot of people are afraid of being alone and I tortured myself in my mind to be alone for probably two years, and then I accepted it. Then I made my plan, which was that if I hadn’t met someone I was going to adopt at the age of 35.” When Selena Gomez met music producer Benny Blanco, she thought of him as a friend, but slowly feelings developed between them. “It happens when you least expect it,” she recalled.
Is parenthood on the horizon?
In an interview with Howard Stern, Benny Blanco also talked about starting his family with Selena. Responding to his comment, Selena laughed heartily and said, “He can’t lie to save his life. If he’s asked a question, he’ll answer it.”
In the early days of their relationship, Selena’s fans trolled their relationship badly. She said, “I know what people can do to my loved ones. My own fans, who I love and who I feel have shaped me, will say the most hurtful things to me about the way I live my life. But he has so much strength within him that he doesn’t get bothered by any of that. It’s really impressive, and I cherish every moment with him. I don’t know what the future holds, but I know he’s not going anywhere anytime soon.” Selena Gomez is happy with her boyfriend Benny Blanco, and wants to see where life takes them.
