More than three decades after re-defying Indian cinema, ‘Shiva’ is returning to the big screen in a grand re-too. Superstar Nagarjuna and filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma have announced that the 1989 action crime drama would return to theaters, restored in amazing 4K resolution with an Emergist Dolby Atomos Sound experience.
Re-team celebrated the 50th anniversary of Annapurna Studios, the banner under which Shiva was released originally and went to break the box office records, earning widely important praise. Hindi and Tamil versions will be re -released after the Telugu premiere.
The audience will get the first glimpse of the Remastard Classic through a teaser screening with Rajinikanth’s cool on 14 August.
A landmark film gets a modern makeover
Built by Akini Venkat and Yarlagadda Surendra, Shiva was inspired by Verma’s own experiences as a student in Vijayawada. The story of gripping exposed how students were manipulated by anti -social elements, and it became a decisive moment in Telugu cinema.
Speaking about the re -release, Nagarjuna shared, “Shiva was the film that gave me the status of a prestigious hero, which made my character really unforgettable … We felt that we realized that we have outstanding it to the audience who made it a creed classic, and also for a new generation that may have seen it on only YouTube.”
Using AI from mono to dolby atomos
Director Ram Gopal Varma recalled how Nagarjuna’s faith and producers inspired the film’s success. He revealed that a new sound mix was created using advanced AI technology.
Verma said, “By using advanced AI technology, we have converted the original mono mix into Dolby Atomos … people must have seen Shiva first, but I promise that no one has experienced it.”
