Seventeen concerts were temporarily halted after a fire on stage; ‘Carats are very hot…’

A major accident was averted during K-pop group Seventeen’s first day performance at a South Korean venue. Moments before the members took the stage, a staff member noticed a fire burning among several light fixtures above the stage. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, although the incident caused a delay in the performance and filled the venue with smoke as staff worked proactively to ensure everyone’s safety.

Once the show resumed, the members joked about the situation, teasing their fans to lighten the atmosphere and reduce tension.

Fire breaks out at Seventeen’s concert

K-pop boy band Seventeen began their fourth world tour on October 12 in Goyang, South Korea. Moments before the show began, the members were instructed to stay off the stage due to a fire. Thankfully, it was brought under control quickly, but fans feared that if it had not been taken care of in time, it could have resulted in a major incident.

The performance was temporarily halted after a staff member observed unusual sparks, filling the venue with smoke. According to reports, meanwhile, a quick-thinking staff member managed to climb over the railing adorned with light fixtures and extinguish the fire before it spread.

In various clips and videos, fans can be seen trying to clear the smoke away from themselves using their belongings, especially those who were close to the stage and under the light fixtures.

‘No reports of any injuries’

After a delay of approximately 20 minutes, it was confirmed that no injuries were reported, allowing the show to resume as scheduled. Thankfully, everything was going smoothly from that point on. Once the fire was extinguished due to the prompt action of the staff, Carat at the venue praised the heroic staff member, and the performance continued!

Despite the tense situation and the obvious fear on fans’ faces, the members managed to keep things light and jokingly commented, “Seventeen and Carat are so hot; it’s no wonder we’re on fire ” Hoshi tried to understand the situation, consoling fans, “No, no, it’s because of you ~we’re burning~, no matter what, it all passed!” Jeonghan participated in concerts during his military service.

SEVENTEEN is a boy band consisting of S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Wooji, DK, THE8, Mingyu, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino. They debuted under Pledis Entertainment and are set to release their 12th mini-album, Spill the Feels, on October 14. The upcoming album is the K-pop group’s first comeback in nearly six months. Their ongoing world tour will stop at several venues in Japan and the United States after South Korea and run from October 12 to December 22. Jeonghan and Jun are currently serving in the military.
