An embarrassing incident happened at Seventeen’s performance at Lollapalooza Berlin. The boy-band member Mingyu went viral for his impeccable look and presentation during the performance. He chose to wear a revealing outfit with black sunglasses, pearl necklaces, bracelets, and a watch. The singer grabbed everyone’s attention by getting close to his fans. However, someone tried to touch his abs inappropriately and fans got furious on social media.
What happened during SEVENTEEN’s concert at Lollapalooza 2024?
As reported by Sportskeeda, the group performed for 90 minutes for the audience. Seventeen’s Vernon addressed all the fans, saying, “We know how long you’ve waited for us. Not only is this our first time in Berlin, but it’s our first time to perform at Lollapalooza, and our first time to headline it. It’s all thanks to you guys.” The boy band performed songs like ‘HOT,’ ‘SOS,’ ‘MAESTRO,’ ‘Ready to Love,’ ‘Very Nice,’ and more.
During the performance, group member Mingyu stepped off the stage and moved closer to the barricade to give carats (Seventeen fans) an exclusive view of his dancing and singing skills. The crowd was very surprised by this sudden move, and many tried to shake hands and get a glimpse of the artist.
Fans on social media noticed that someone from the crowd was inappropriately touching the artist’s stomach without her consent. This indecent behaviour has sparked anger and disappointment across social media. Many have spoken out against this act, saying that it is unethical to touch any person without their permission.

What are fans saying in support of Mingyu?
After Mingyu’s amazing performance, many fans gathered on Twitter/X and noticed how a carat in the crowd was insulting the artist by touching his abs, sexualizing his abs. One disappointed fan said, “He was standing in front of you, trusting that you wouldn’t do anything inappropriate. Yet you touched his abs.”
Someone also wrote, “Whoever you are that touched Mingyu’s body without his consent, don’t you have basic human decency?! Why would you want to touch him? You should be grateful that he trusted you guys enough to get so close to you. Please be respectful!! It’s disgusting that you took advantage of the moment.”
Another angry fan commented, “Mingyu was there to excite the crowd and you can see in this video that he looked down when he felt someone touching him, this put him in an uncomfortable position but he handled it well by facing upwards to excite the crowd. Poor Mingyu.”

A fan in support of the artist said, “Remember that this is harassment. Being so close to Mingyu (or anyone) doesn’t mean you can touch them wherever you want.” The fan also called the act “disgusting behavior.”
