Former Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni is currently on a spiritual journey in Mahakumbh 2025.
He is currently in Prayagraj for the auspicious celebrations of Mauni Amavasya Snan on January 29, 2025. The actress had also shared a video discussing her pilgrimage plans.
According to a video shared by PTI a few minutes ago, she has been hailed as a Hindu nun under the Kinnar Akhara. He performed his own ‘Pind Daan’ and would be consecrated as ‘Mahamandaleeshwar’.

For those unaware, Kinnar Akhara was founded by eunuchs and its functions fall under the Juna Akhara.
Kulkarni took a dip in the Sangam.
Mahamandaleshwar Kaushalya Nand Giri alias Tina Maa of Kinnar Akhara also told PTI that the actress performed her Pind Daan alone. This happened on Friday on the banks of river Ganga.
The actress had earlier shared a video on her Instagram feed, revealing that she would be heading to Varanasi for darshan at the Kashi Vishwanath temple after completing her rituals in Prayagraj.
He also had plans to go to Ayodhya.
The actress had earlier shared that her journey out of India started in 2000 and she finally returned in 2024.
Mamata had earlier mentioned how emotional it was for her to visit India after two decades.
In the caption of the video, Mamata wrote, “Back to my motherland after 25 years. After 12 years of penance, participated in Kumbh Mela 2012 and exactly 12 years later came back for another Mahakumbh 2025.”
In an old conversation with IANS, Mamata had also talked about why she left Bollywood.
He had said, “The reason for my leaving India was spirituality. In 1996, I got inclined towards spirituality and during that time I met Guru Gagan Giri Maharaj. After his arrival, my interest in spirituality increased after which my penance started. I believe that Bollywood gave me name and fame. After this, I lived in Dubai for many years from 2000 to 2012. Remain celibate for 12 years.”
For those unaware, let us tell you that Mamta Kulkarni has given many Bollywood and South hit films. Some of his hit films include lover vagabond (1993), Krantiveer (1994), and Karan Arjun (1995), to name a few examples.
