Menaka Irani, mother of filmmakers Farah Khan and Sajid Khan, died in Mumbai on Friday at the age of 79. Farah Khan’s close friends and colleagues from the film industry paid their last respects to her mother on Friday. These included Farah Khan’s old friend and superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Shah Rukh visited Farah Khan’s house last night with his wife Gauri and daughter Suhana. Shah Rukh-Gauri and Farah are close friends. Gauri has produced films like the 2007 film ‘Hum Saath Hain’. Calmness2004 film I am not and the 2014 film happy new year – All these films featured Shahrukh Khan in the lead role and were directed by Farah Khan.
Earlier on Friday, several celebs including Rani Mukerji, Shilpa Shetty, Bhushan Kumar and MC Stan visited Farah’s house. Meanwhile, filmmaker Zoya Akhtar paid tribute to her aunt Menaka Irani through a special post. She shared an old photo of Menaka Irani and wrote in her post, “Meneka Aunty. You shaped my life in ways I will always be grateful for. You taught me to read, you made me laugh, you made me listen to country music and you made me feel like the most special girl in the world. You will always be loved and never forgotten. Rest in peace. Rest in power.”
