Shah Rukh Khan sent a congratulatory message to cinematographer-director Santosh Sivan after he won the prestigious Pierre Agennieux Excellence Award in Cinematography at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. In a video shared by a fanpage dedicated to the actor, Shah Rukh Khan can be heard saying, “Many congratulations to Santa, as we call him, to Mr Santosh Sivan for receiving the prestigious Pierre Agennieux Excellence Award at the Cannes Film Festival. I have had the good fortune of working with Santa right from the beginning of my career and like many others, I have learnt a lot from him. We have done films like From the heart, but still the heart is Hindustani And he directed me in a beautifully crafted film AshokaAnd I learnt a lot from him while making these films. He taught me that talent is not thought, it is felt.” Watch the video here:
Earlier, Preity Zinta too had shared a post for the veteran cinematographer, whom she presented with the award at Cannes this year. Sharing pictures from the ceremony, Preity wrote, “It was a great honour to present the prestigious Pierre Agenneux Award 2024 to the first Asian, brilliant and super talented cinematographer Santosh Sivan ASC, ICS at the Cannes Film Festival. I had the privilege of working with him in Dil Se and now Lahore 1947 and I couldn’t be more proud and happy for my dear friend and colleague Santosh you are a crazy talented person, you deserve it all. Talking about work, Preity Zinta was last seen in the 2018 film Bhaiyaji Superhit. After this she will be seen in Lahore 1947with Sunny Deol. The film will be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan. Shah Rukh Khan is celebrating winning the IPL trophy after a decade. His co-owned team Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets in the final.
