Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan on Monday lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for the media and entertainment sector while supporting the upcoming World Audio Visual Entertainment (WAVES) 2025 summit.
Taking the X, Shahrukh wrote a note saying that the Waves 2025 summit will “inspire and promote creativity.”
“I look forward with great anticipation to WAVES, the film and entertainment summit to be held in our country. An occasion that celebrates our industry and its role in the Indian economy as well as its strengths. Accepts. A soft power… and above all, an opportunity that encourages and fosters creativity,” Shahrukh posted.

On Sunday, PM Modi announced the launch of the World Audio Visual Entertainment (WAVES) Summit, with an emphasis on making India the hub of global content creation.
“Next year, the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit i.e. WAVES is going to be organized for the first time in our country. Veterans of the media and entertainment industry and people from the creative world will come to India for the WAVES Summit. PM Modi, in his address during the 117th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, said, “The summit is an important step towards making India the hub of global content creation.” I feel proud to tell you that young creators are also participating in this summit.

Earlier, actor Akshay Kumar had also praised PM Modi for launching the Waves Summit.

CBFC chief and lyricist-writer Prasoon Joshi said Waves Summit 2025 will “highlight India’s content industry and its huge potential”.
India will host the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit for the first time from February 5 to 9.
