Mumbai: Shalini Pasi, who rose to fame with Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives, has captured the hearts of fans with her glamorous personality and outspoken attitude. Beyond the glitz, her love story with her husband Sanjay Pasi comes across as a tale of values, bold choices and challenging social norms. After getting married at the age of just 20, Shalini accepted the important stages of life with grace and determination.
During a candid chat with Mojo Story, Shalini revealed that she was ready for an arranged marriage but she had a strict condition before saying yes to any proposal. She insisted that her future husband abstain from alcohol, smoking and gambling.
“I told my parents that I didn’t want that person to drink, smoke or gamble. I was brought up by my grandparents, who were extremely against these habits. They did not even allow a pack of cards to be kept at home. I have grown up with the same values and I wanted the same for my wedding,” said Shalini.
Her parents were initially skeptical about finding a life partner who could meet their standards. Shalini recalled, “When I told this to my mother, she said, ‘Sure, good luck.'” However, fate intervened and she met Sanjay Pasi, a businessman who completely agreed with her principles. Kind of matched.
Despite his parents’ doubts, Sanjay turns out to be exactly as Shalini had imagined. He shared, “When Sanjay’s family said that he does not drink or smoke, my father did not believe it. He thought they were lying!”
Shalini and Sanjay’s shared values became the foundation of their relationship. As she revealed in Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives, the synergy between their philosophies was one of the reasons why she was attracted to him.
Shalini’s journey into motherhood started early, as her son Robin Passi was born at the age of 21. Reflecting on this life-changing milestone, she said, “It was a very good move by the universe because I had so much energy and excitement at that time.”
She emphasized the benefits of becoming a mother at a young age; ‘What happens with women is that later in life, energy and recovery become extremely different. Since I was little, I would get even more excited when I took my son to the toy store. It felt like I was living my life upside down.”
