Mumbai: Actress Sharvari, who is basking in the success of horror-comedy ‘Munjya’, has received the IMDb ‘Breakout Star’ STARmeter award. The actress, who has previously worked as an assistant director, made her debut in 2021 with ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi alongside her.
While ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ didn’t receive much positive response due to COVID-19, the actress registered a stupendous success with her second film ‘Munjya’ which released almost three years after her film debut.
Maddock Films’ ‘Munjya’, related to the supernatural world, became the surprise hit of 2024 and is running in theatres.
Talking about receiving the ‘Breakout Star’ STARmeter Award, Sharvari said: “Thank you so much, IMDb. I am so overwhelmed to receive the IMDb ‘Breakout Star’ STARmeter Award. It’s unbelievable. I am so grateful to all the fans and viewers who have loved everything I have done over the last month and I am so grateful for all the love they have given me. I am just so grateful.”
The award is given to stars who perform well in the list of popular Indian celebrities on the IMDb app. The list reflects page views from over 250 million monthly visitors to IMDb worldwide. Sharvari also played a special role in the streaming film ‘Maharaj’, which was the film debut of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan’s son Junaid.
The film is based on the Maharaj defamation case, and also stars Jaideep Ahlawat, and is produced by YRF. The actress will next be seen in ‘Veda’ opposite John Abraham and is currently shooting for ‘Alpha’ opposite Alia Bhatt.
The film deals with the spy world of YRF and joins the list of films like ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, ‘War’, ‘Pathan’, ‘Tiger 3’ and the upcoming film ‘War 2’.
