Ahead of Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal’s wedding rumours, Sonakshi’s uncle Pahlaj Nihalani has confirmed that Shatrughan Sinha will be attending the wedding. Times NowRumours of rift in Sonakshi Sinha’s family have been doing the rounds on social media ever since Shatrughan Sinha said in an interview that he was unaware of the wedding. Refuting the rift rumours, Pahlaj Nihalani told Times Now, “Shatrughan Sinha was out of Mumbai for almost three months due to the elections. Bhabhiji (Poonam Sinha) must have known. She must have decided to tell him about it after he returned. Now he is back in Mumbai and all is well between Sonakshi and her family.”
When asked if Shatrughan Sinha was upset with Sonakshi not informing him about the wedding, Pahlaj Nihalani told Times Now, “Yes, but he can’t stay upset for long, not with Sonakshi. She is his darling. There is no question of not attending the wedding (as Shatruji told you, these days those kids inform, not take permission). Why should he be upset if Sonakshi is marrying a boy of her choice? Shatruji himself married a girl of his choice forty years ago. Even I chose my life partner myself when I married my wife. One should not have unrealistic expectations from their children.”
In an earlier interview with Zoom, Shatrughan Sinha revealed that he was not aware of her marriage plans. He said, “I am in Delhi right now. I came here after the election results. I have not spoken to anyone about my daughter’s plans. So your question is whether she is getting married? The answer is that she has not told me anything about it.”
Shatrughan Singh further said, “I also know as much as I have told the media. If she takes me into confidence, my wife and I will give our blessings to the couple. We always wish for her happiness. We have full faith in her judgment. She will never take a decision that is unconstitutional or illegal. As an adult, she has the right to take her own decisions.”
The actor said, “I would like to say that whenever my daughter gets married, I would like to dance in front of the baraat. People close to me are asking me why I am not aware of it and the media is aware of it. All I can say is that nowadays kids don’t take consent, they only give information. We are waiting to get the information.”
Sonakshi Sinha wedding rumours have been doing the rounds since a report in India Today claimed that Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are set to get married on June 23. As per the report, close friends, family members and the cast of Heeramandi have already received the invitations. The wedding will reportedly be celebrated at Bastian in Mumbai. However, the couple is yet to confirm the date.
