Video from the 2014 Golden Globe Awards surfaced online following Diddy’s arrest on sex trafficking charges. In the video, Bono appeared to move away from the rapper after attempting to kiss him on the cheek.

In the clip, Combs, Usher and Kate Beckinsale are seen presenting U2 with the award for Best Original Song for “Ordinary Love” from “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom”.

While Bono looked happy accepting his trophy from Usher, Diddy came over to congratulate him.

Bono, in turn, gave her a quick side hug and then turned her head toward the attendees as Diddy moved in to kiss her on the cheek.

After this, Combs’ smile disappeared and he left the stage with Beckinsale.

According to Page Six, the two moved on from their unpleasant encounter as they were spotted hanging out at an afterparty that same evening.

Netizens react to strange Diddy, Bono encounter

Meanwhile, many netizens mocked Diddy on social media, with some wondering if Bono knew anything about the rapper.

“Didi tried to kiss Bono and was ignored, weird!”. An ex-user reacted to the viral video.

“That moment was definitely awkward – celebrities have some of the most unexpected encounters!” Another wrote.

“Bono [is] Like get away from me dude,” a third user shouted.

A fourth user quipped, “Didi is looking around to see if anyone saw her getting rejected by Bono,” while a fifth wondered, “Didi didn’t like Bono. What about Bono?” knew it?”

Combs’s legal troubles began in November last year when his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura sued him, accusing him of sex trafficking and physical assault.

The lawsuit was quickly settled, but it triggered an investigation into Combs’s background, which ultimately led to his arrest in New York City on September 16.

Judge Andrew Carter twice denied the rapper’s bail requests, despite assurances from the $50 million Miami property he shares with his mother. Shawn pleaded innocent to the charges.
