Do you know Sherlock Holmes? This is the detective seen in Hollywood movies who explains how the murder happened without touching the body. India’s Rohan Sippy and Sreejith Mukherjee tried to give a desi touch to this Hollywood detective and presented it to us as Shekhar Holmes. Now whether this desi touch is good or bad, it will be known only by reading the review.
The story is that…
Jayavarat Sahni (Ranveer Shorey) sets out in search of himself and wanders to Mangal Ashram in Lonpur, West Bengal. Shekhar Homes (KK Menon) is already living in a rented house. Jaywarat meets Shekhar when he is solving a question for free. Gradually, Shekhar and Jaywarat become friends and then start solving one problem after another together.
Actors and their acting
Ranveer Shorey is currently in the headlines due to Bigg Boss OTT 3. In such a situation, releasing the series only 12 days after the grand finale of Bigg Boss OTT 3 can prove to be a master stroke. But it won’t happen. In fact, after seeing Ranveer and his performance in Bigg Boss OTT 3, people are expecting him to do a great job, so his side character in Shekhar Holmes is somewhat of a bummer. There is no doubt that he has done a good job in side roles too, but if he was given the role of Shekhar Holmes, it would have been different. However, KK Menon as Shekhar Holmes is also under scrutiny. Also Keerti Kulhari surprised.
Story and dialogue
The star cast of the series is quite good, but the story is equally lackluster. KK Menon played the role of Shekhar Holmes, but he did not go down well with the cases. Yes, but the dialogues are funny. Some of the dialogues also add a touch of comedy to this crime thriller series.
See or not
If you want to sit down and watch a crime drama series with your family and you don’t want to watch too much bloodshed, then this series is for you. If you are a fan of the core crime thriller genre then this series may disappoint you.
