The shooting of Bengali television serials of the Bengali entertainment industry resumed in and around Kolkata on Wednesday after an indefinite strike by directors following the intervention of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
After two days, the hustle and bustle is back at the studio as the director, actors and technicians have arrived for the shoot.
A spokesperson of the West Bengal Motion Pictures Artistes Forum said that shooting of all TV serials has started in various studios.
He said, “The shooting of films and web series will also resume in a day or two. The shooting schedule was hampered due to the two-day disruption.”

Swarup Biswas, president of the Federation of Cine Technician Workers of Eastern India (FCTWEI), said technicians will be present at the shooting location from Wednesday.
He said, “We are grateful to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for taking the initiative to resolve the issue. As per her suggestion, a high-level committee comprising (director) Gautam Ghosh, (actor) Prosenjit Chatterjee, minister Arup Biswas and others will be formed. This committee will resolve all the pending issues in a time-bound manner.”
The directors had struck work since Monday after technicians said they would not work under a filmmaker who was banned by the federation earlier this month from working for three months for allegedly violating certain norms.
Biswas said filmmaker Rahul Mukherjee, whose work was stopped, will join the SVF project as director after a week and we will sort out all the differences.
Young director Abhirajit Sen, whose OTT film is set to begin shooting next week, said, “After a break, it usually takes a few days to resume filming because of problems and date issues.

“All stakeholders, from directors to light boys, sound recordists, hair dressers and spot boys, will work together as part of an orchestra,” senior director Gautam Ghosh said at a press conference on Tuesday night.
After the meeting of industry representatives with the Chief Minister, a round of discussions took place between the directors and technician lobby on Tuesday evening.
Bengali superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee, actor-turned-TMC MP Dev and director Gautam Ghosh, along with minister Arup Biswas, met Banerjee at the secretariat and talked for about 35 minutes.
