As an artist, Raja’s development has been about going back to his roots. “Every artist has a 360 degree journey, from a dreamer to a doer and I think I am becoming a dreamer again, going back to my roots, writing my thoughts and songs on a pen and paper and focusing on making music,” he says. He says, “I am not on the shoulder of any rule, and I am still doing it in an old school manner, a dreamer. As a Hindi rapper, when asked about the regional rap scene across the country, the king says he is very excited. “I love the rap scene below the south,” they say. “The songs have amazing statements, story and scenes. After working on several projects with Nick Jonas, Alan Walker, Jason Derulo and Kshmr, the king laughs and says he has a very philosophical thing to say about it. “Har (song) drop, cooperation, and convenience takes me somewhere. I am open to all these collaborations because there is no limit to music,” he says.
Starting as a finalist on reality show MTV Hustle. King’s Rise has been a music chart from a humble beginning in Delhi to a hitmaker. Hip-hop music in India is a powerful voice of youth from the economically backward classes of society and many stars have emerged in languages over the years.
“Young, aspirational hip-hop artists should first work on themselves as a person, and then work on finding themselves. He also says that instead of doing things like his musical idols, aspiring artists should only take notes from their idols, but bring their stories and experiences.
