Sobhita Dhulipala thrilled as ‘Monkey Man’ gets BAFTA nomination: Am I dreaming…

Mumbai: Actress Shobhita Dhulipala is very happy as her film “Monkey Man” has got the BAFTA nod and has topped the best reviewed films of Rotten Tomatoes.

The actress shared on social media that her film Monkey Man has entered the BAFTA race, with Dev Patel earning a nomination for Outstanding Debut by a British Director or Producer.

The film won the award in the Best Action and Adventure Movie category. It was nominated along with Deadpool & Wolverine, The Fall Guy, Rebel Ridge, and Twisters.

Sharing the news on her Instagram, she wrote, “Am I dreaming or is it holy… – A BAFTA nomination. – Rotten Tomatoes Best reviewed action and adventure film of 2024. #IndieForLife.”


Monkey Man, directed by Dev Patel, is an action-packed thriller about an ex-convict who seeks salvation in a corrupt, lawless world. The action thriller film is directed and produced by Dev Patel. The film stars Patel in the lead role, while Sikandar Kher, Sharlto Copley, Pitobash and Vipin Sharma play supporting roles.

It was in 2024, when Shobhita married actor Naga Chaitanya at Annapura Studios in Hyderabad. They shared special moments from their much-publicized wedding in December.

Posting the first official pictures from the wedding on Instagram, she captioned it in Telugu.

In the first picture, Shobhita is holding Naga’s face lovingly. The rest of the pictures show various rituals including ‘hawan’ and ‘jaymala’ during their wedding ceremony.

During the ‘Jaymala’ ceremony, the couple can be seen in a playful mood as they try to put the garland around each other’s neck, but no one is willing to give up.

Naga and Shobhita got married on December 5, 2024. The intimate yet star-studded affair was attended by stalwarts like Chiranjeevi, PV Sindhu, Nayanthara, NTR and famous couples like Ram Charan-Upasana Konidela and Mahesh Babu-Namrata Shirodkar.

Annapurna Studios was founded by Naga Chaitanya’s grandfather Akkineni Nageswara Rao. It is a cherished family legacy not only for the Akkineni family but for the entire Telugu cinema fraternity. Spread over 22 acres in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, the studio holds an important place in the history of Tollywood, making it a fitting backdrop for this memorable day.
